Through modest capital investments and carried interest in lieu of capital, BlueWave also assumes equity interest in renewable energy and environmentally focused companies. BlueWave Capital was founded in 2003, along with its affiliated consulting firm, BlueWave Strategies LLC. BlueWave Strategies was sold in 2010 to TRC Companies Inc. (NYSE: TRR), a national environmental consulting and engineering firm. BlueWave Capital remains a separately owned and managed entity, but works closely with TRC to leverage their national network of professionals for project engineering, construction, bonding and advisory services.
